Obtaining these items today

Besides the obvious option of looking on eBay, there are several proxy services that can be used for ordering from specific countries where sellers may only ship domestically. I recommend checking these regularly, because many of these items are quite rare and will not go up for sale very often.

Japan

Make an account on Dejapan or Buyee. Sites like these usually have built-in search engines that will search multiple merchant sites for you, such as Yahoo Japan Auctions, Rakuten, Fril/Rakuma, Suruga-ya, Yahoo Shopping, and Mercari. Search for “スーパーマリオRPG” in the proxy service's search feature, or on vendor sites directly (and then copy-paste the URL into the proxy site). I have personally only used Dejapan and have been continually impressed with their customer service, and I have also heard great things about Buyee from other collectors.

Korea

Make an account on Delivered Korea. Search Global Bunjang for "마리오 RPG”. Global Bunjang is integrated with Delivered Korea, so you can click “Buy” directly on the Global Bunjang item listing and it will prompt you to use your Delivered Korea account. You can also try searching on auction.co.kr or try your luck with possibly-outdated listings on Ruliweb and use Delivered Korea to fulfill a purchase request.

Taiwan

Search Shopee for "超級瑪利歐 RPG”. If you find an item listing you like, fill out this form on Buy Taiwan Online to request a quote. They will respond to you over e-mail with a price, and you can then let them know if you would like to proceed or not.

Hong Kong

Search buygame2 for “超級瑪利歐 RPG”. No need to use a proxy service for this one, they deliver internationally.

United Kingdom

This only applies for the metal pin set in the event that you cannot find it on eBay. Nintendo’s UK store only delivers within the UK, so make an account on My UK Mailbox. Order directly from Nintendo UK but put your My UK Mailbox account address as the shipping address. (note: the pin set is not sold separately on Nintendo UK, it requires a purchase of the game)

Chile

Unfortunately I don’t know of a reliable way to get the sticker set overseas. Mathogames only ships domestically, and I have not successfully found any Chilean proxy services.
